Thanks to funding provided by: Communities In Schools National, Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, Greater Clark County Schools, Metro United Way, and Indiana Department of Education- 21st Century Community Learning Centers, we were able to expand into Jeffersonville High School. The expansion includes in-school services:

  • Resource Coordinator
  • Centerstone Therapist
  • Academic Support and Goal-Setting
  • Service Learning Opportunities
  • Bare Necessities
  • We will also be providing a Family Resource Center which will include: clothing, hygiene packs, food, shoes, and coats.
  • Family Support Specialists- School Day

In addition to in-school services, we provide afterschool programs which include:

  • 21st Century Community Learning Centers-Enrichment, Credit Recovery, College/Career
  • Daily Hot Meals
  • Family Engagement Opportunities

The full-time Resource Coordinator at Jeffersonville High School is Shanee Lassiter. Shanee has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and is doing a great job at inspiring and assisting high school students to improve in school and achieve in life! We expect to serve an additional 150-200 student because of this expansion.

Jeffersonville High School is not the only school to benefit from this expansion. Through funding from Metro United Way, River Valley Middle School and Thomas Jefferson Elementary School also received additional programs including:

  • Resource Coordinator
  • Centerstone Therapist
  • In-School Tutoring and Behavioral Management
  • Service Learning Clubs
  • Bare Necessities
  • 3,2,1 Read

We expect to serve an additional 50 students per school due to this expansion. The River Valley Middle School Resource Coordinator is Caitlin McCormick and the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School Resource Coordinator is Jessica Radford.
