“Young people thrive when adults care about them on a one-to-one level and they have a sense of belonging to a caring community.”

Bill Milliken, Founder, Communities In Schools

Role models and supportive adults are needed at each school. Volunteers can read with students, provide tutoring after-school, or assist with family night activities.

Volunteers are always needed for Project 321 READ where community members are paired with first, second, and third grade students and spend time reading together one day a week.

Share your particular talent or skill with students in Clark County.  Contact the CIS of Clark County office if you are interested in providing a school-wide or grade level presentation.

Community volunteers lead CIS of Clark County through service on the Board of Directors, Committees, and planning of Special Events. Contact Julie Moorman at the CIS of Clark County office for more information.

Our Partners

Join the CIS of Clark County Team!

Communities In Schools of Clark County has been operating in- and out-of-school programs and services in Clark County’s neediest elementary schools since 2002. By bringing caring adults into the schools to address the children’s unmet needs, CIS of Clark County provides the link between educators and the community. The result: teachers are free to teach, and students – many at-risk of becoming high school drop-outs – have the opportunity to focus on learning.
